Open Board Position - Please Apply if Interested

Posted Date: 7/09/24 (12:35 PM)

Hello Rainier Families,

The Rainier School District is governed by a school of publicly elected individuals.
These board members—called “school board directors”—are citizens just like you! The school district currently has an opening to be filled by a citizen who lives within the school district boundaries. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and community impact to make a difference!

What does a school board do?

School directors work together to oversee the school district. As a board, their primary responsibilities are:

  • Hire, supervise and evaluate the superintendent
  • Set the vision, mission and strategic goals for the district
  • Review, revise and adopt policies
  • Establish and oversee the budget
  • Serve as community representatives
  • Monitor the district’s progress towards its goals

If you are interested, or know someone in the community who is, please fill out this application and return it to the district office.
